The EXO'LuXion in Manila
I’ll
start this post with a confession. Actually, I hate being a fangirl. As much as
possible, I detach myself from fangirling too much. Being a fangirl requires
you to be strong mentally, emotionally and financially. I once idolize an
international group and soloist before, but I back off as soon as I found
myself getting overly attached.
But
that’s old news because ever since I set my eyes on EXO, I knew I’m screwed.
And no matter how much I try to detach myself, it’s no use. Because once you
enter this fandom, it will be hard to leave.
It's the first time I fangirl this much. That’s why I’ve waited for years for them to
have a solo concert in Manila. And the wait’s over last January 23-24, 2016.

I
attended Day 1 of TEL MNL. (They announced it late that there will be day 2. I
wish I was there, too. :( )

When
we arrived at MOA Arena, it’s so palpable that PH EXO-Ls (or Phixo as what
Baekhyun called us) are so excited and overjoyed to be able to have the chance
to meet their bias. You can hear people screaming everywhere just because. And
you can’t blame them because we’ve waited for this for too long.

Even
though the show started a little bit late, I didn’t complain. I was too busy
admiring the silver ocean – I’m only seeing it on videos and pictures before
but being a part of it… so surreal. I swear it’s too pretty. I’ll never get
tired looking at it. Just like what Jongin said, it looks like twinkling stars.
Since
we’re sitting near the main stage, when my seatmates and I saw shadows near the
stage, we can’t help but scream. Screams grew louder when EXO entered the
stage.
The
first thing I did was to count the members. I was quite confused at first seeing
only 6 of them but when Jongin and Minseok went up the stage sitting, I
realized that they won’t be able to dance. But coming in the Philippines
despite their situation, I can’t help but admire them more.
Eight.
Eight members came - 6 performed - but I have to admit I was sad, really sad, when I
didn’t saw Yixing. He’s my bias after all. I’ve waited for him for years. I was
looking forward to see him but I guess it’s just not the right time yet. His
safety should be prioritized first. But not seeing his live performance made me feel so down. I was actually a bit silent at first but when I saw
how the other members worked so hard just to satisfy us, exo-ls, boosted my energy.

The
whole concert I was screaming, cheering, singing and dancing. Even though we’re
at the VIP seated (I should’ve been on VIP standing instead! Lesson learned!),
we’re still standing the whole time because we can’t help but dance and jump
while they’re performing. Our side is lucky too because Jongin and Minseok are
always near us.

I
may not have saw Yixing this time (someday I will), but it’s still okay because
EXO gave us a concert to remember forever. I’m so kilig since Baekhyun, my other bias, is always on our side. And
after the concert, I just realized how charismatic Jongin is. He’s such a bias
wrecker! So as Chanyeol.
The
next time they’ll perform here again, I swear I’ll do everything just to attend
again. Because it’s so worth it. Every cent is worth it. Every second is worth
it. Because they’re worthy. Because they’re EXO.
I’m
so proud to be an EXO-L. And I’ll keep our promise to OT9 - the promise of forever. As long as EXO stays, I stay.
